You must hand out candy throughout the entire parade route. Pre-parade units must participate in a sponsorship role. To get sponsorship information please reach out to: wozhawa@yahoo.com
There is no candy or flyers allowed for any units in the regular parade lineup. Starting with Unit 1
Your parade float, group, or performance must be appealing to the audience. The parade director will request a description of your unit for approval.
Music may be used by musical numbers only. This will help us place units that are visual in between musical numbers such as bands.
No buses, trailers, or means of transportation for your equipment, staff, or participants may follow behind or in front in the parade. For example, if you are a dance group, your parents’ trucks, school or rented bus may not follow your group in the parade. The same goes for performers with equipment trailers.
Your parade unit will be approved based on the following items, audience appeal, community participation (local, etc.), and our budget.
We review parade prospects every 2 weeks. Please allow time for review and response.
The parade route begins at the corner of Superior St and Washington Ave, then it turns right on Broadway Ave, turns right on Vine Street where it ends.
Parade staging will happen along Washington Ave. The parade staging means where your float will line up. This space is not for buses, trailers, or means of transportation. These can be parked at Springhill Elementary which is near the end of the parade.
If your unit incorporates animals, the animals must be trained and accustomed to large crowds and loud noises. They also must have all the necessary medical requirements to be around other animals.
The parade does not have a float or participation fee. Wo-Zha-Wa festival will pay a performance fee for units we believe will bring entertainment, exposure, and fun to our parade. In addition, we encourage parade units to provide their own sponsors for the parade. High School Bands will receive a $600 fee and Middle School Bands will receive a $400 fee
